Explore Ladakh: Traverse the roof of the World Back

Day 1
Delhi - Leh arrival

Arrive at the Kushok Bakula Airport of Leh. Transfer to Hotel/guest house in Leh. Complete rest for acclamatisation for the rest of the day.

Day 2
Around Leh

Late morning the tour guide and the vehicle will be there at the hotel/guest house to take you for a half day sightseeing around Leh. Rest of the day left to yourselves to explore the nukes and corners of the market of Leh. O/N at hotel/guest house.

Day 3
Leh - Chilling - Nimo Rafting - Alchi

Early morning drive on Leh Srinagar highway to Chilling rafting point where the raft will be waiting for you. Rafting stretch is about 20 Kms on the Zanskar river, which will take about 2 and 1/2 hours. The level of rapid is between 3 – 4. The ending point is at the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river. You’ll have hot lunch at the bank of river Indus. After lunch, proceed towards Alchi village. Visit the famous Alchi Choskor, built in the 11th century by Lama Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo, has fabulous fresco paintings and architecture. In the evening take a village walk and get down to the river Indus to spend some quite time here. O/N at hotel/ guesthouse.

Day 4
Alchi - Lamayuru

Late morning drive leisurely to the famous monastery of Lamayuru(one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh). Visit the Yurdung gonpa and enjoy the scenic view of the moonland(landscape similar to that on moon). Rest of the day is left to yourselves to spend walking in the village and being alone.

Day 5
Lamayuru - Phyang - Leh

Late morning drive back on the same road to Leh. Enroute visit the Phyang monastery (a beautiful monastery on a hilltop). O/N at hotel/guesthouse.

Day 6
Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh

Early morning drive to Pangong Lake, accompanied with the vehicle and the guide. The Pangong Lake is 160 km from Leh, with spectacular views, colorful mountains and the Changla pass. The scenic view of colourful mountains throughout the journey makes your trip memorable.
The drive begins with the spectacular view of Thiksey monastery, famous for its architectural similarities with the Potala palace of Lhasa. The monastery covers an entire hill. Beyond this village, you will drive towards the Changla pass (5,300 m), leaving the Leh Manali road on your right hand side. The long easy ascent takes you to Changla pass through it's winding roads passing through Sakti Village. Stop at the Changla Pass for a quick photograph session and drive down to the village of Tangtse, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong you pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally you can have a sudden view of the lake. The Pangong Lake view is dramatic, surrounded by colorful mountains and it's reflection makes the lake beautiful. The color of the lake changes into different color throughout the day. The division of lake between India and China makes it different than the other Lake. Therefore you are not allowed to go beyond a certain point. Reach Leh by evening. O/N at hotel/guesthouse.

Nubra Valley (2 nights -3 days)

In this tour you will be able to see the world highest motorable road (Khardong la 5,600 m), beautiful monasteries, villages, sand dunes of Hunder village, water falls, the hot springs of Panamik village and the famous double humped Camels, Which are only found in Central Asia and Nubra Valley.

Day 7
Leh - Diskit - Hunder (118 km / total time 8-9 hrs )

Early in the morning leave for Diskit, the capital of Nubra via the world highest motorable road Rest in Diskit Village for some time and leave for Hunder(6-7 km). Visit the village and the small monastery here. Drive back to Diskit on the way you might see the double humped camels in the Sand Dunes. O/N hotel/Camp in Diskit.

Day 8
Diskit - Panamik - Sumoor

Early morning drive towards Panamik(hot Spring) if it sounds good to you, have a bath here and drive to the Ensa monastery (250 years old, 6-7 km). To reach the monastery you will be walking for half an hour through a steep yet an amazing route. Drive back to Sumoor village, enroute stop and see the Yarab-Tso a small lake in between a hill. O/N hotel/camp.

Day 9
Sumoor - Leh

In the Morning visit the famous Samstangling monastery, (132 year old, founded by Lama Tsultim Nima). After that drive back to Leh. Reach Leh by late afternoon. Evening for relaxing with the sweet memories of Ladakh, calling you and your family again and again. O/N hotel/guesthouse.

Day 10
Leh - Delhi departure

Early morning the vehicle will transfer you to the airport.
