Day 01
Delhi - Leh Arrival
After
an exciting flight from Delhi to Leh . We receive you at Kushok Bakula
Rinpochey airport-Leh and transfer to Hotel/Guesthouse. Take complete
rest for the day. Late evening take a walk around Leh Town or take rest
at hotel for Acclimatize.
Day 02
Around Leh- Shanti Stupa - Samkar - Namgyal Tsemo - Leh Palace
Second
day for the acclimitisation, you will be doing short sight seeing
around upper Leh. Shanti Stupa, built by Japanese master in 1995, and
inaugurated by H.H.Dalai Lama of Tibet , from here you can have the
panoramic views of Leh and surrounding areas of Indus valley. Sankar
Gonap is a small Gelukpa Buddhist monastery at upper Leh and it is the
monastery of Head lama of Ladakh. Namgyal Tsemo or the Victory peaks as
it is called is on the top of the Leh and it was a ancient Casstle of
Ladakh King dRakpa Bumde and Lehche Spakar or the Leh Palace is in nine
storey built in 17th century by Ladakhi famous King Senge Namgyal. Now
it is taken care of by the Archeological Survey of India. Overnight
hotel/Guesthouse at Leh.
Day 03
Stok - Thiksey - Hemis
After
breakfast leave by jeep to visit Stok royal Palace, the present home of
royal family of Ladakh and you can visit the most beautiful royal
museum for ancient ornaments, Jewelleries, Crown of the King and the
queen. Hemis, The Drukpa monasteries located in the deep gorge.
Overnight hotel/guesthouse at Leh.
Markha valley 5 days trek begins. Physical Challenge: Moderate
Day 04
Spituk to Zingchen (4-5 hours)
After
an early start from Leh, we will travel by jeep to Spituk, where horses
will be waiting to carry our equipment. The trek will begin along an
old jeep road into a parched and exposed region, so water and sunscreen
are absolutely vital! After plodding through the shattered land for
3-hours, we will enter the lush Zingchen Valley , where the Rumbak
River flows into the mighty Indus. Further into the valley lies our
campsite, in the two-house hamlet of Zingchen (meaning ‘big field’).
The rest of the day may be spent relaxing, or even taking a dip in the
stream. O/N at camp.
Day 05
Zingchen to Ganda La base (3-4 hours)
Today
we will enter Hemis National Park, where we may be fortunate enough to
get a glimpse of wild lives as diverse as the snow leopard, lynx,
Ladakhi Urial (a type of goat), arghali (great Tibetan sheep), blue
sheep, red fox, Tibetan wolf, dhole (wild dog), marmot and mountain
hare. After paying the entrance fee, we will climb gradually through a
beautiful gorge that will unveil the imposing Stok Range from time to
time. Before reaching Rumbak, we will stop at a teahouse run by women
from the village. After a warm cup of tea, we will continue through
Rumbak, and pass by the house of Yurutse village, before reaching camp
at the base of Ganda La (4545m). From our campsite, we can see a
spectacular view of Stok Kangri and the whole of the Stok range.
Day 06
Gandala base to Shingo village via Gandala 4900 m (4-5 hours)
After
a light breakfast, we will begin our 2-hr ascend to Ganda La(mountain
pass) (4900 m); views of the lofty Zanskar and Stok Ranges will leave
you breathless. The usual chorten and prayer flags mark the top of the
pass, where one may see blue sheep and marmots roaming the hills. After
a short rest, we will make a gradual descent to Shingo village. O/N in
camp at Shingo village.
Day 07
Shingo village to Skyu village (3 -4hrs)
Late
in the morning after a leisure breakfast bid good bye to the family and
continue to desend through the gorge and small willow groves to reach a
huge valley opening of Markha! Trek continues to reach the Beautiful
village of Skyu(3300), where we halt for the night at the Homestay
here. Within this idyllic village lies an old monastery and ruins of an
old castle (once a rest stop for the Royal family on their way to
Srinagar). After lunch and rest you can go to explore the village here.
O/N at Skyu camp.
Day 08
Skyu - Chilling to Leh (2 hrs of trek and 2 hrs of drive)
After
a lovely traditional Ladakhi Breakfast at the homestay, continue the
trek route to Chilling Village, the last day of the trek. Just before
reaching the vehicle waiting for you at Chilling Village the great
River Zanskar is to be crossed using the rope-pulley. This is the
dessert at the end of this trek! Drive from here to Leh, a spectacular
drive along the Zanskar River, to reach the confluence of the Indus and
the Zanskar rivers at Nimoo village. Drive further to reach leh for a
good hot shower and dressed for a leisure walk in the town. O/N at
guesthouse in Leh.
Day 09
Alchi - Lamayuru - Rigzon
After
breakfast leave Resort/guesthouse to Rigzong- the mountain fortress,
renowned for its strict observation of Buddhist rules and regulations
laid by the Great Master-the Buddha and also visit one of the oldest
nunnery-Chulichan. Lunch at Khaltse town and after that drive Lamayuru-
the oldest monastery in Ladakh and after excursion drive back to Leh
and night halt at hotel/Guesthouse at Leh.
Day 10
Nubra Valley- Khardong - Khalsar - Disket - Hunder - Sumur - Panamik - Leh
Early
morning drive to Nubra Valley, Of all the valleys in Ladakh, the Nubra
is the most luxuriant and fertile lays North of Leh with the mighty
Karakoram Range forming its northern boundary and the Ladakh range on
its south. Two major tributaries of the Indus. The valley is lush green
as far as the eye can see with glaciated peaks all round it. The route
from Leh takes the travel far over the Khardongla pass (5,600 m) the
highest motorable road in the world. The view from the top is amazing.
One can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly
endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range. Diskit is the main
village of Nubra division with Diskit Gonpa on a sheer rock cliff,
built in 16th century; 7 km from Diskit is Hunder village where the
shaggy double humped Bactrian camel is found. And camel riding in the
sand dune between Diskit and Hunder village could be really fun and
more interesting in this region.
Innerline
permit is required to this side as it is Pakistan border and World’s
highest Glacier Siachen is in this region. Overnight hotel/
resort/Camp/Guesthouse in Nubra.
Day 11
Excursion around Nubra.
Overnight hotel/guesthouse at Diskit/Hunder/Sumur.
Day 12
Nubra Valley - Leh
Excursion around Nubra and drive back to Leh from the same route. Overnight hotel/guesthouse at Leh.
Pangong Lake
The Pangong Lake is 160 km from Leh, with spectacular views, colorful
mountains and the Changla pass. The scenic view of colourful mountains
throughout the journey makes your trip memorable.
The drive begins with the spectacular view of Thiksey monastery, famous
for its architectural similarities with the Potala palace of Lhasa .
The monastery covers an entire hill. Beyond this village, you will
drive towards the Changla pass, leaving the Leh Manali road on your
right hand side. The long easy ascent takes you to Changla pass through
it's winding roads passing through Sakti Village . Stop at the Changla
Pass for a quick photograph session and drive down to the village of
Tangtse , where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for
Pangong you pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally
you can have a sudden view of the lake. The Pangong Lake view is
dramatic, surrounded by colorful mountains and its reflection makes the
lake beautiful. The color of the lake changes into different color
throughout the day. The division of lake between India and China makes
it different than the other Lake. Therefore you are not allowed to go
beyond a certain point.
Day 13
Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh
Early
morning drive to Pangong lake ( 7 hrs ). Lunch beside the Pangong lake.
Enjoy the beauty of the salt lake. Spend time besides the beautiful
lake and take walks near it. By afternoon leave for Leh. Reach Leh
and spend the rest of the evening shopping and for relaxing with the
sweet memories of Ladakh, calling you and your family again and again.

Day 14
Leh - Delhi departure
Early morning drive to Kushok Bakula Rinpochey airport-Leh.
