Day 01
Delhi - Leh
After an exciting flight from Delhi to Leh. We receive you at Kushok
Bakula Rinpochey airport-Leh and transfer to Hotel/Guesthouse. Take
complete rest for the day. Late evening take a walk around Leh Town or
take rest at hotel for Acclimatize.
Day 02
Around Leh - Shanti Stupa - Samkar - Namgyal Tsemo - Leh Palace
Second day for the acclimitisation, You will be doing short sight
seeing around upper Leh. Shanti Stupa, built by Japanese master in
1995, and inaugurated by H.H.Dalai Lama of Tibet , from here you can
have the panoramic views of Leh and surrounding areas of Indus valley.
Sankar Gonap is a small Gelukpa Buddhist monastery at upper Leh and it
is the monastery of Head lama of Ladakh. Namgyal Tsemo or the Victory
peaks as it is called is on the top of the Leh and it was a ancient
Casstle of Ladakh King dRakpa Bumde and Lehche Spakar or the Leh Palace
is in nine storey built in 17th century by Ladakhi famous King Senge
Namgyal. Now it is taken care of by the Archeological Survey of India.

Pangong Lake (1 night 2 days)
The
Pangong Lake is 160 km from Leh, with spectacular views, colorful
mountains and the Changla pass. The scenic view of colourful mountains
throughout the journey makes your trip memorable.
The
drive begins with the spectacular view of Thiksey monastery, famous for
its architectural similarities with the Potala palace of Lhasa . The
monastery covers an entire hill. Beyond this village, you will drive
towards the Changla pass, leaving the Leh Manali road on your right
hand side. The long easy ascent takes you to Changla pass through it's
winding roads passing through Sakti Village . Stop at the Changla Pass
for a quick photograph session and drive down to the village of Tangtse
, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong you
pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally you can have
a sudden view of the lake. The Pangong Lake view is dramatic,
surrounded by colorful mountains and its reflection makes the lake
beautiful. The color of the lake changes into different color
throughout the day. The division of lake between India and China makes
it different than the other Lake . Therefore you are not allowed to go
beyond a certain point.
Day 03
Leh - Pangong Lake
Early morning drive towards the Pangong Lake . Enjoy pack lunch beside
the lake and move towards the Pangong Resort. Spend time besides
the beautiful lake and take walks near it. O/N at Pangong Resort.
Day 04
Pangong Lake - Leh
Late
in the morning drive back to Leh by the same road you travelled
yesterday. If there is time, we can visit Thiksey monastery and Shey
palace on the way. O/N at hotel/guesthouse.
Day 05
Alchi - Lamayuru
After
breakfast leave for Lamayuru - the oldest monastery in Ladakh. Belongs
to Dridung Kargudpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. On the way visit the
Alchi Choskor. Night halt at hotel/Guesthouse at Lamayuru.
Lamayuru – Chilling 5 days trek begins. Physical Challenge: Moderate
Day 06
Lamayuru 3420m – Wanla 3250 m (3 hrs)
After visiting Lamayuru monastery, we will pack our backpacks and set
off for our first day's adventure. We will follow a stream for a time,
and gradually climb up to the pass of Prinkti La (3750m). We will later
pass through the small village of Shilla (3700 m) before reaching our
campsite at Wanla (3250m), where we will spend the afternoon either
relaxing in the sun or visiting the monastery.
Day 07
Wanla – Hinju 3720m (4-5 hrs)
Following
a dusty road we will reach the small village of Phenjilla (3410 m) and
the scattered village of Ursi . We will then walk through a narrow
gorge until we reach a traditional Rangthak (flour mill) at the far end
of the village The trail will then cut through the village of Hinju
(3720 m), roughly 2 km below our campsite in a yak herder’s encampment.
Day 08
Hinju – Sumda Doksa 4430m (5-6 hrs)
From
the encampment, we will continue along the trail and ascend the ridge
below Kongskil La (4950m). If lucky, we will get glimpses of some wild
lives. We will then climb gradually until we reach Kongskil La, where
we will be surrounded by dizzying views of the Karakoram and Stok
ranges. The descent down the trail is quite steep, with loose moraine
causing the difficulty--so be careful! The trail then follows the left
side of valley floor, passing a yak herders’ hut (4500m), before we
reach our campsite. This valley is occupied mainly by the villagers of
Sumda Chenmo.
Day 09
Sumda Doksa – Dung Dung Chan la base 4430m(4-5 hrs)
After
a short walk and a few river crossings, we will reach the village of
Sumda Chenmo . From there we head towards the true left side of the
valley, which provides as beautiful view of the village, with its lush
greenery. Further on, the trail cuts through the valley’s wild rose
bushes and leads us to another river crossing (this stream originates
from the high snow-capped peaks of Photoksar (5685m). Before making a
steep, challenging ascent over Lanak, we will see Edelweiss and some of
the other rare wild flowers of Ladakh. From the campsite, there is a
splendid view of Konskila.
Day 10
Dung Dung Chan La base – Chilling 3550m (5 hrs)
We
will begin the day with a straightforward climb to Dungdung Chan La
(4820m), which offers views of the beautiful vistas of the Stok Range
in the east, and the Zanskar Range in the south. From the pass, the
trail gradually descends down a ridge toward the valley, continually
tapering before reaching the village of Chilling . Chilling is the only
village in Ladakh that has provided metalworks such as copper, bronze,
tin, silver and iron to the Leh market through the centuries. From
Chilling, we will drive for about 3 hours along the Zanskar River . We
will eventually reach its confluence with the Indus and the easy road
back to Leh.
Day 11
Around Leh
A
day to explore the nukes and corners of the town to get a feel of it
and may be some shopping. Evening for relaxing with the sweet memories
of Ladakh, calling you and your family again and again. O/N
hotel/guesthouse.
Day 12
Leh - Delhi departure
Early morning drive to Kushok Bakula airport.
